This Cookie Policy explains how CueBox, Inc. ("CueBox," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at getcuebex.com (the "Site") and in our software platform. We want you to understand what cookies are, why we use them, and the choices you have regarding their use.

By using the CueBox Site or platform, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy. If you do not accept the use of non-essential cookies, you can adjust your cookie preferences using the methods described in Section 5 of this policy. Our use of cookies is also described in our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website or use a web application. They are widely used to make websites and applications work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their sites are used.

Cookies contain information such as a unique identifier, the domain that set the cookie, and an expiration date. When you visit a site, your browser sends any cookies associated with that domain back to the server, allowing the site to recognize your browser and remember your previous interactions.

Cookies can be classified in several ways:

By duration: Session cookies are temporary and expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until their expiration date or until you delete them, and they are activated each time you visit the site that set them.

By origin: First-party cookies are set by the website or domain you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting — typically by analytics providers, advertising networks, or other third-party services embedded in the site.

By purpose: Cookies are used for a variety of purposes, from maintaining your login session to tracking your browsing behavior across multiple websites. The purpose categories are explained in detail in Section 3 below.

2. Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, we use other similar technologies on our Site and platform:

Web Beacons (Pixel Tags). Web beacons are small transparent images embedded in web pages or emails. When your browser loads a page or email containing a web beacon, it sends a request to the server hosting that image, which records information such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time the page or email was viewed. We use web beacons in our email communications to understand when recipients open emails and click links within them.

Local Storage. Local storage is a browser feature that allows web applications to store data on your device without an expiration date. We use browser localStorage to remember your cookie consent preference — specifically, whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies — so we do not need to ask again on subsequent visits. Local storage data does not expire automatically and must be deleted through your browser settings.

Session Storage. Session storage is similar to local storage but stores data only for the duration of a browser session. We use session storage for temporary data needed to maintain the state of your current session in the CueBox platform, such as the current state of forms you are filling out.

Analytics Scripts. We embed analytics scripts from third-party providers that collect data about how you interact with our Site. These scripts may set cookies or use other tracking mechanisms. See Section 4 for details on specific third-party services we use.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Essential (Strictly Necessary) Cookies

Essential cookies are required for our Site and platform to function properly. They enable core functionality such as authentication, security, and session management. Without these cookies, the Site cannot function as intended, and services you have requested — such as logging into your account — cannot be provided. You cannot opt out of essential cookies through our consent mechanism, as they are necessary for the services you have requested.

The essential cookies we use include:

  • Session authentication cookies — maintain your authenticated session after you log in, so you do not need to re-authenticate with every page load. These are session cookies that expire when you close your browser or when your session times out.
  • CSRF protection tokens — protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks by validating that form submissions and API requests originate from our own platform. These are session cookies.
  • Load balancer cookies — ensure that your requests during a session are directed to the same server to maintain session continuity. These are session cookies.
  • Cookie consent record — stored in localStorage rather than as a cookie. Records whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not display the consent banner repeatedly.

3.2 Analytics and Performance Cookies

Analytics cookies collect information about how visitors use our Site — which pages they visit, how long they spend on each page, which links they click, and where they arrive from. We use this information to understand site usage patterns, identify content that is performing well, detect technical issues, and make data-informed decisions about how to improve the Site and platform experience. These cookies do not collect information that identifies individual visitors directly; all information is aggregated.

We use analytics cookies to measure and improve the performance of our platform features. When you use the CueBox platform, analytics data helps us understand which features are used most frequently, where users encounter difficulties, and how usage patterns evolve over time — all of which informs our product development priorities.

Analytics cookies are non-essential. You can decline or withdraw consent to analytics cookies through the cookie preference options described in Section 5, or by opting out through the opt-out mechanisms provided by our analytics providers.

3.3 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow our Site and platform to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalized features. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have integrated into our pages. The information these cookies collect may be anonymized and cannot be used to track your browsing activity on other websites.

Functional cookies we use include cookies that remember your display preferences such as font size or layout settings, language or region preferences where applicable, and the state of interface elements such as sidebar visibility in the platform. If you decline functional cookies, some non-essential personalization features of the Site and platform may not work as intended, but core functionality will not be affected.

3.4 Marketing and Targeting Cookies

CueBox does not currently use marketing or advertising targeting cookies on our Site or platform. We do not serve interest-based advertising and do not share your data with advertising networks for the purpose of delivering targeted advertisements. If this changes in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and obtain your consent before setting any marketing cookies.

4. Third-Party Cookies and Services

Some cookies on our Site are set by third-party services embedded in our pages. These services have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review. We have limited control over third-party cookies once they are set on your device.

Analytics Providers. We use analytics platforms to understand aggregate Site and platform usage. Analytics providers may set cookies that identify your browser across sessions to build aggregate usage reports. We configure these services to anonymize IP addresses and to disable cross-site tracking where such options are available.

Payment Processing. When you enter payment information, our payment processor Stripe may set cookies to protect the security of your payment session and to detect fraudulent transactions. Stripe's cookie practices are governed by its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

Customer Support Tools. We use a third-party customer support platform that may set cookies when you interact with our support widget or chat functionality. These cookies help the support system recognize returning visitors and maintain conversation context.

Content Delivery Networks. We use content delivery network (CDN) services to deliver static assets (images, CSS, JavaScript) efficiently. CDN providers may set performance cookies to optimize delivery routes for your location.

5. How to Control Cookies

You have several options for controlling cookies set by CueBox and by third parties on our Site:

Cookie Consent Banner. When you first visit our Site, you will see a cookie consent banner that gives you the option to accept all cookies or to manage your preferences (declining non-essential cookies). Your preference is saved in your browser's localStorage and will be honored on subsequent visits. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for the getcuebex.com domain and revisiting the Site.

Browser Settings. All major browsers allow you to control cookies through the browser settings. You can choose to block all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or clear cookies at any time. Instructions for managing cookies in popular browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Note that blocking all cookies will prevent you from logging into the CueBox platform, as essential session cookies are required for authentication. Blocking only third-party cookies will have less impact on Site functionality while limiting some forms of cross-site tracking.

Opt-Out Tools for Analytics. You can opt out of analytics data collection by specific providers using their opt-out tools, which are typically available through the provider's website or via browser extensions. These opt-outs work by setting an opt-out cookie or by modifying your browser's do-not-track settings.

Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing activity not be tracked. CueBox honors DNT signals by limiting analytics tracking for visitors who have this preference enabled in their browser.

Mobile Devices. Mobile devices typically provide options to limit ad tracking or to reset your advertising identifier. These options are available in your device's privacy or security settings. Because CueBox does not use advertising cookies, these controls are primarily relevant if you use third-party apps that embed CueBox content.

6. Cookie Retention Periods

The retention period of cookies varies by type and purpose:

  • Session cookies expire when you close your browser
  • Authentication cookies typically expire after 30 days of inactivity or when you explicitly log out
  • Analytics cookies from third-party providers typically have retention periods of 12 to 24 months, as set by the provider
  • Functional preference cookies typically expire after 12 months
  • Cookie consent records stored in localStorage persist until you clear your browser's localStorage for the getcuebex.com domain

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our cookie use, new legal requirements, or changes in the third-party services we use. We will post the updated policy on our Site with a revised "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email. Your continued use of our Site following the posting of an updated Cookie Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
